THE READUCATE LITERACY PROGRAM
Our multi-phased program is customised to meet each community's unique needs, including working with regional and local partners, training Reading Coaches using our comprehensive Teaching Guides, and equipping Learners with the resources they need to achieve meaningful literacy progress.
-
We work with regional and local NGOs and partner networks to define program scope, scale, roles, and KPIs.
-
During instructional training, attendees learn how to use the Teaching Guide and READucate Method with hands-on practice under a READucate expert. This adaptable training equips literate participants with the confidence and skills to deliver READucate Programs effectively, regardless of prior teaching experience.
-
Guided by a trained READucate Reading Coach, learners progress through five interactive books covering the English alphabet, spelling, comprehension, writing, communication, memory, and study skills. The program is usually conducted 3 to 5 times a week, over 4 months.
-
Following the completion of the READucate literacy program, we conduct a closing ceremony and support exploration of additional learning opportunities for our Learners.
OUR TEACHING VALUES
We ensure our teaching methods are aligned to our core values by using diverse strategies to support the unique needs of our Learners.
We have fun.
Our lessons are underpinned by a sense of play. We want Learners to develop a love of learning.
Engage all senses.
Our multisensory approach uses visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile methods to engage our Learners.
Trust is key.
Building rapport and trust with our Learners is fundamental to a productive and positive outcome.
Mix it up.
Our lessons involve Reading Coach modelling, guided practice and independent learning to keep Learners focused.
PROGRAM RESOURCES
We provide all program participants with the resources they need to succeed, from comprehensive Teaching Guides and ongoing advisory support for our Reading Coaches, to supplemental learning resources for our Learners.
TEACHING GUIDES
A prescriptive guide, including lesson plans, teaching notes, classroom activities, and online videos are provided to all Reading Coaches for every literacy level.
LEARNING RESOURCES
In addition to curriculum books, we provide our Learners with flashcards and activities that are focused on phonics, spelling rules, and writing comprehension.
COACHING
Our READucate supervisors provide ongoing coaching and project management support to the Reading Coaches throughout the literacy program.
“READucate is the light to the future for unfortunate kids who are treated differently. I can conclude that this program will make a difference.”

SUCCESS STORY
THE BASA-THON PROGRAM
The Basa-thon Program was a four month intensive reading remediation project aimed to up-skill struggling readers in Grades 3 to 6, across five schools in rural Cebu.
In partnership with the Department of Education and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., the Program improved literacy skills, nurtured self-confidence, promoted well-being, enhanced communication skills, and fostered educational engagement among young participating Learners.

“Pupils improved a lot, not only their literacy skills but as well as their emotional aspects. They are now confident enough to tell stories on their own. The happiness from their heart is really observable with their coaches.”
